Rain causes numerous floods over the Island

They icluded: Doors and Windows Ltd. on Serpentine Road, Pembroke. The cause was cracks in the roof and around $1,000 damage was caused to computers and the carpet.

The Bermuda Industrial Union building, Union Street, Hamilton. No information on this was available.

Maximart in Sandys Parish. The cause was a blocked drain and there was no serious damage.

A.S. Coopers Ltd. on Front Street, Hamilton. The cause was a blocked drain and no serious damage was caused.

The John W. Swan Building on Victoria Street, Hamilton. The cause was a tank overflow and no serious damage was caused.

Four Star Pizza, Angle Street, Hamilton. The cause was a blocked drain and there was no serious damage.

A private residence on Fairhaven Lane, Sandys. The cause was a blocked drain and there was no serious damage.

A private residence on Church Lane, Pembroke where there was minor damage to the kitchen.

A private residence on Happy Valley Road, Pembroke where the basement had been completely flooded out. There was some electrical damage.

Showers are forecast to continue throughout the week but, according to Bermuda Weather Service meteorologist Kimberley Stevenson, will pass over the Island much faster than these recent ones due to stronger winds.

Lt. Mullan urged residents to check that their drainage pipes are not blocked before any more showers arrive.
