Shipping channels busy in run-up to Christmas

The festive season saw no slow-down in shipping traffic -- yesterday The Somers Isles came in from Florida with 102 dry containers and four refrigerated containers.
The Bermuda Islander is due in from New Jersey today carrying 89 dry containers and 19 refrigerated containers. It is also bringing in a boat.
The Oleander arrived from New Jersey on Monday with 35 refrigerated containers, 117 ordinary containers as well as 14 cars and two trucks and a steamroller.
The cable-laying ship Skandi Hav is still carrying out its equipment testing trials out of Penno's Wharf while the Danicar Red which brought cable for the Skani Hav is also moored in St. George's.
