wallet from a St. George's club, a court heard.

Dimitri Robinson, of Anchorage Road, St. George's pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court on Monday to the charge of stealing the leather wallet from the St. George's Dinghy Club on June 28 while concerned with another man -- who was not before the court.

The court was told that Robinson was "on licence'' as he had received early release from a two-year stint of corrective training at the Prison Farm and that he was working with the Parks Department.

Prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Robinson and the other man were seen going into the bar area of the club by a man who had left his wallet -- which contained three credit cards, some keys and $30 in cash -- and keys there.

When he returned, the two men were gone and so was his wallet and keys.

The complainant went looking for the pair and but they ran away when he approached them. A female Police officer later saw the two running in the area of Barracks Close.

Robinson was arrested and admitted stealing the wallet and taking the cash. He said he threw the other items in the sea.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis said he would have to speak to the prison authorities to hear what they had to say about the matter before he passed sentence.

Robinson was released on $800 bail with a like surety and was ordered to return to court on September 2.
