Brother hits his sister 15 times
guilty in Magistrates' Court to assaulting his sister.
Acting Magistrate the Wor. John Judge said on Monday he felt his powers of sentencing were "inadequate'' after hearing about Kimball Jacobs' assault on his sister.
Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that Jacobs was watching television at his mother's Victoria Road house on Saturday when his sister and mother came home. Jacobs began arguing with his mother and his sister tried to intervene.
Jacobs then punched his sister in the face and continued to punch and kick her until he was restrained.
Insp. Duffy said sister Cynthia Jacobs received a cut over her left eye that required five stitches to close. She was also being X-rayed for a possible broken jaw during yesterday's appearance by Jacobs.
Insp. Duffy said Jacobs was arrested the day after the beating and admitted to Police he hit his sister "more than 15 times''.
Jacobs also said in the statement that he had no remorse about assaulting his sister. He had been waiting to do so for quite some time, he said.
Jacobs told the court that the fight was the result of a long-standing family dispute over his sick father's car.
His father had been sick since May, with a series of seizures and strokes.
During that time, Jacobs claimed, his mother, brother, and sister had his licence revoked.
Jacobs said: "I might have lost my temper, but my father was wrongfully manipulated.'' Mr. Judge told Jacobs he could not excuse the "savage attack'' and referred the case to Supreme Court.
