The seat is one of the safest for the United Bermuda Party. A likely candidate is the Hon. Grant Gibbons, who is a Senator and Minister of Management and Technology.

Dr. Stubbs was also chairman of the Telecommunications Commission which is currently overseeing ten applications for licences that could alter the way Bermuda communicates with itself and the world.

The Hon. Charles Collis is deputy chairman.

Dr. Stubbs was also chairman of the Bermuda Medical Society which regulates the medical profession.
