Mr. Vaucrosson allegedly owes the money to the bank, which is represented by Appleby Spurling & Kempe.

Lawyer from the firm Mr. Geoffrey Bell said yesterday the writ related to "normal banking business''.

He said the bank did not wish to comment further.

Mr. Vaucrosson, who has offices at Church Street in Hamilton, said he was unaware of the writ, which was entered in the Supreme Court register last week.

"I don't know what it is about,'' he said from his home in Pembroke.
