The 32-year-old man -- who was found guilty of repeatedly fondling an 11-year-old boy's private parts in class -- was the subject of a social inquiry report.

The report was only presented on Monday and lawyer Archie Warner asked Chief Justice Austin Ward to delay the sentencing while he reads the report.

The teacher was found guilty of touching the youngster for a sexual purpose while in a position of trust between October 1 and December 31, 1993.

He was also convicted of inviting the boy to touch him for a sexual purpose at that time.
