The Inter Agency Planning Committee's fair is also aimed at celebrating "Public Health Week'' and recognising `Child Abuse Prevention Month''.
The fair starts tomorrow and lasts until Saturday at City Hall.
Displays will be staffed by several member agencies at City Hall from 12 p.m.
to 2 p.m. from tomorrow through Friday and again from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. on Saturday.
Both government and private agencies will be represented as well as entertainers who will be helping to celebrate the spirit of collaboration.
The Inter Agency Planning Committee began meeting in 1995 for the purposes of: Uniting private and government agencies around interests.
Sharing strategies and information.
Reducing the duplication of services.
Informing the public collectively regarding outcomes and objectives.
The group has an enrolment of over 40 agencies and service providers at varying levels of participation. The focus of monthly meetings is typically related to either the identification of possible solutions to joint concerns regarding care for children in our community or generating dialogue regarding more efficient use of our existing resources.
A steering committee provides organisational support and distributes information to the general membership on a monthly basis. Sub committees are formed to address specific issues and report back to the general membership.
