Thieves who broke into a clothes shop on Reid Street on Saturday night carried away a number of designer leather jackets including brand names, "Cymmarron,'' "Newbuck'' and "Colebrook.'' Visitors at a Paget hotel reported cash, jewellry, passports and airline tickets missing after a thief entered their room on Friday night.

And in a separate incident a purse containing credit cards and a driver's licence was stolen from a guest staying at a neighbouring hotel.

A McGalls Hill resident also reported a quantity of jewellry was stolen during a break-in on Friday night. And on Saturday night, a Warwick resident awoke to find thieves had broken into their Rocklands Estate residence, taking a television, watch and cash.

Two arrests in connection with cycle thefts were also made over the weekend.

A 17-year-old man, suspected of riding a stolen pedal cycle, assaulted a Police officer and attempted to escape arrest on Sunday afternoon.

A Police patrol arrested the man after spotting him riding the Trek cycle along Dundonald Street yesterday afternoon.

An 18-year-old Pembroke man was arrested on Richmond Road on Saturday evening after he allegedly stole an auxiliary cycle.
