Bermuda Maritime Museum Local history and culture comes alive at Bermuda Maritime Museum, inside the great fortress Keep of the Old Royal Naval Dockyard. Extensive artefact collections and historical exhibits are within the Keep?s many historic buildings, including ammunition stores and the restored Commissioner?s House. This is the place for Bermuda?s fascinating maritime and military history-including shipwrecks and discovery, the Royal Navy and the dockyard, sailing and unique traditions, cultural connections, forts and war veterans. Bermuda National Trust Museums: Verdmont: Early 18th-century mansion containing many Bermudian pieces, china and portraits, Collector?s Hill, Smith?s Parish. Open TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission $3.

Tucker House Mid-18th Century home on Water Street, St. George?s. Commemorates prominent Tucker family. Displays include tribute to Joseph Rainey, a Bermuda barber who became the first black US Congressman; exemplary collection of 18th Century portraits, furniture and silver; archaeological exhibit showcasing results of extensive three-year excavation in the basement. St. David?s Island Historical Society Carter House tour, Southside. Carter House is believed to be the oldest dwelling in St. David?s, surviving for more than 350 years, mainly in its original state. A 17th Century house containing history of St. David?s Island and its people. A Trail Through History TUESDAYS: Learn about Bermuda?s human and civil rights through the guise of architecture. The women?s suffrage movement, the emancipation of slavery and much more will be covered. An exhibition of the role of the Gombey dancer in the evolution of human conscience in Bermuda, will be held with this walk on the last Tuesday of each month. The Bermuda Youth Library Book Buddies. Do you love to read or be read to? Do you need to practice reading aloud? Well, Book Buddies is for you. Younger children will be matched with an older child to practice their reading and to be read to. If you are interested, register at the Youth Library and become a Book Buddy.
