French Canadian journalists here

Quebec travel publications, arrived in the Island at the weekend for a four-day familiarisation tour hosted by the Department of Tourism.

The journalists' visit is part of a communications programme in Quebec which includes French language advertisements, brochures, and public relations activities.

"The (Tourism) Department's French language marketing effort in Quebec reflects Bermuda's continued interest and support of the Canadian market,'' said Mr. Peter Smith, the Department's assistant director of marketing. "The Department views the French-speaking Quebec population as a market that until now has largely remained untapped.'' Publications represented by the group include trade publications Tourisme and Bulletin Voyages, family and lifestyle magazine Chatelaine, Montreal's daily newspaper LaPresse and the general interest/lifestyle publication, MTL Magazine.

This visit highlights Delta Airlines' recently introduced Delta Dream Vacation packages to Bermuda.

These three-day minimum vacations, which include airfare, offer travellers a choice of accommodation at one of eight guest properties ranging from small guest houses to large beach resorts.

Properties participating in Delta's package programme are Edgehill Manor, Rosedon, Grotto Bay, Mermaid Beach, Belmont Hotel, the Southampton Princess, Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort and the Elbow Beach Hotel.
