Year.
Let's get ready to rumble for a big year ahead in soccer.
Preparations for the Olympic qualifiers next year are going well, particularly after our excellent Florida tour.
It was fantastic for us just to get the players in a football environment. We had the privilege of playing on the same training pitches as the US national women's team, the world champions, had used.
The facilities in Orlando were superb and we wish we could have picked them up and brought them home.
And the attitude of the players was first class. I was pleased with the way they came through back-to-back games and played so well.
Getting the guys all together, including those off school for two or three weeks, helped us learn so much in a short space of time.
They got up at 7.00 a.m. every day to go for a run, even after two games in two days. They trained hard, three times a day, and played hard. And if that's not commitment and dedication, I don't know what is.
As long as the team stays together and we can keep doing things like the Florida tour, they are capable of winning matches. If we're going to prepare for the Olympics, let's keep doing it right.
And to top it all off, we found two new players, Thomas Carter and Calvin Bell. That is something we are always looking for. If you look at the example of Jamaica, they recruited a lot of players from England for the 1998 World Cup -- and how would they have managed without them? Obviously, Jamaica have a much bigger population than Bermuda and so they have more people spread around the world, but we in Bermuda should also always be on the lookout. We can't afford to miss out on good players for Bermuda.
With regard to my contract situation, I think to be fair to everyone involved, something needs to be sorted out quickly. Whatever we do, it must be the right thing and honesty must play a big part.
We must be fair to all the coaches and players, who are putting in a lot of hard work in preparation for the World Cup and Olympic qualifiers next year.
To represent your country is everybody's dream and I'd be crazy if I was any different.
