House on Par-la-Ville Road has forced the owners to take action.

Skate boarders caused so much damage to concrete walls that serve as planters outside the office building that the owners authorised measures to end the problem.

The building manager was given the go ahead to fit edges of the planters with protective stainless steel strips and inch-high bolts.

The protruding bolts will put an end to "aggressive skaters'' who had taken to barrelling down the sidewalk and mounting the planters in a show of their dexterity and style.

The skate boarding culprits managed to damage the concrete fixtures many times before they were noticed by the building's cleaners on a Sunday.

The discovery solved the mystery of numerous black bump markings, grease and chipped wall edges.

The Royal Gazette was told that less than a week after the building and planters had been painted, the planters were "terribly dirty again''.

Now that the metal strips have been fitted, the planters will get a fresh coat of paint.

The building's owners are now more confident the clean finish will last longer than a week.
