West End hit by series of thefts
of which occurred in the West End.
Police spokesman P.c. Alan Oliver reported that a sports store on Cambridge Road in Sandys was unlawfully entered over the weekend and a Panasonic portable stereo system was stolen.
The culprit/culprits gained access to the store by smashing a window.
A church on Beacon Hill Road in Somerset was burgled during the same time period and four wooden louvre windows were stolen from a bathroom.
In this case, entry was gained by forcing open an office door.
Elsewhere in Somerset, a Sandys pizza delivery man was the victim of a theft while making a delivery.
He left a package containing two submarine sandwiches on the back of his unattended bike and returned to find they had been taken.
Meanwhile, in Hamilton, an unattended white Mitsubishi taxi parked on Court Street was unlawfully entered over Sunday lunch time and a tracksuit top, rain jacket and $10 in small change were taken.
