Man saved from car
male passengers plunged into the water off Watford Bridge.
One of the passengers, a 59-year-old Sandys Parish man, was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was listed in critical, but stable condition in the hospital' Intensive Care Unit last night.
Details of the 3.30 p.m. mishap, which occurred just west of Watford Bridge were still sketchy last night.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Andrea Browne said the men were believed to be watching the Long Distance Comet Race when the car rolled, striking two parked cars, and plunged into the sea.
Spectators yelled at Marine Police who were passing by at the time, Sgt.
Browne said. But by the time Police approached, one of the men managed to get out of the car without injury and two people in the area brought the second man to the surface.
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation was administered by Marine Police and an off-duty ambulance driver before the Sandys Parish man was rushed to hospital.
