Don't change a thing May 4, 2001
In reply to your article by Stephen Breen telling us of the remarks made by Peter Yesawich as to "Bermuda needing to change its "stuffy image''.
I am a regular visitor to Bermuda and I like it as it is. It is so refreshing to come here to see your Bermudian ladies and their children so beautifully groomed, smart, well-made dresses with handbags and shoes to match and the Bermudian gentlemen in their shorts, long socks, laundered shirts and ties.
Everyone so well mannered and polite, your shops selling good quality clothes made from good quality cloth, served to you by helpful staff. Hotels and restaurants trying to make everything special for us so that we can dress up to go out (usually with a more casual option for those who want it!) Hold your heads up high, Bermudians and show the rest of the world how to live, it is your uniqueness that attracts Americans, if you change and no longer are unique then they will not be attracted to come her.
