with a car is suing Police Commissioner Mr. Lennett (Lennie) Edwards, The Royal Gazette has learned.

Mr. Lennox Donald Alvis received head injuries in the accident which happened around 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 1988.

Mr. Alvis was riding with fellow officer P.c. Terrance Maxwell when both bikes struck a car at the junction of Princess Estates Road and North Shore Road.

Mrs. Sandra Scott, who was driving the car, received cuts after her front windshield was smashed.

Alvis' lawyer Mr. Darcy Lord said that his client had sustained a fractured skull in the accident.

"The basis of our claim is that the helmet he was provided with was defective,'' Mr. Lord said. "It flew off after he hit the car. As a result of the accident he had to leave the force and return to St. Vincent.''
