Mr. Harry Viera, 58, will be in plea court following a November 18 search of his Paget home, a Police spokesman confirmed yesterday.

Charges had not been formally laid at press time, and Mr. Viera was expected to be charged before the court.

In the search, for which Police used a warrant, a .38-calibre handgun, a stun gun, and a can of mace were seized, sources told The Royal Gazette .

Mr. Viera represented Southampton West in the House of Assembly from 1968 until this year, when he did not seek re-election.

He split with the United Bermuda Party to sit as an Independent after the 1989 vote.
