Alfred Mallory, 25, pleaded guilty to possessing 0.09 grams of heroin on 29 June.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Peter Duffy, told the court that Police officers on patrol in Pembroke saw a group which included Mallory involved in a drug transaction. When approached by the officers, Mallory threw away a twist of paper. He was detained by the officers and the twist was opened in his presence to reveal a powder substance. Tests revealed the substance was 0.09 grams of heroin.

Mallory was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and later admitted he bought it for $120 for his personal use. Mr. Marc Telemaque, defending, said Senior magistrate the Wor. William Francis, should take into account that Mallory was employed but had a common-law wife and child to support and had no previous drugs convictions.
