Tony Bukhari, 31, appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday morning following his arrest at the weekend.

Bukhari, wearing a dark coloured sports jacket and open neck shirt, looked calm and unemotional as the charge was read out. He spoke only to confirm his name.

But bail was granted on the conditions that Bukhari surrender all travel documents and provide a $5,000 surety. An unnamed person also had to provide the same sum.

Bukhari will also have to report to Police three times a week before his next appearance in court on June 22.

Bukhari was arrested on Friday evening after an inquest into Ms Cadell's death had adjourned for the weekend. That inquest has now been postponed until the outcome of the trial.
