Inter-faith Thanksgiving service tomorrow

Friends of America in Bermuda are invited to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow with an inter-faith service at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street.

The service will begin at noon so those wishing to attend on their lunch break will be able to do so although people are requested to be seated by 11.55 a.m.

The American Consulate and the American Society are inviting everyone ? not just Americans ? to join with them in this Thanksgiving Day celebration. In the spirit of giving back to the community, donations will be collected on behalf of Age Concern.

The 45-minute service will feature Rev. Dr. Erskine Simmons of Bright Temple AME Church reading the homily, US Consul General Gregory Slayton reading President George W. Bush?s Thanksgiving Proclamation, American Society President Brad Woodings speaking on Thanksgiving Remembered, as well as members of the religious community and others who will read selected texts.

Music will be provided by the Saltus Brass Ensemble, the Saltus Singers, and choir members from the Anglican Cathedral, St. Theresa?s Cathedral and St. Paul?s AME Church.
