Day show, entitled "A Laugh for Moms'' on Sunday at Ruth Seaton James at 6.00 p.m.

The Island's top comedian is creating a two-part format for the two-hour show, the first which will involve an LA Live-type interview of a local artist as well as entertainment from house band Legacy and Gospel Reggae singer Geneman.

The second half of the show will involve skits, the material from which comes from everyday things that affect the lives of Bermudians, but done with humour. You have to be able to laugh at yourself, as Bootsie will tell you.

"The show caters to the whole family with clean stuff and no profanity on social issues and some political stuff, but at the same time drops messages in there as well,'' said Bootsie.

The comedian will also have his younger brother Dyke Lawrence doing acting and singing in some of the skits. One skit involves an alcoholic who rejects his son until he realises he can sing.

"I'll be doing a skit on bus drivers, coming through Customs at the airport, Random Drug Searches and a skit on the Psychic Hotline,'' Bootsie revealed.

"I'm trying to deal with a lot of the current issues. On the second half of the show I'll be on stage for almost an hour.'' Bootsie's Mother's Day show has been very popular since he began them about seven years ago. He recognises the vital roles that mothers perform in raising children.

"Even coming up, no matter what happens to you you always call for your mother first,'' he said, obviously drawing on his own experience.

"And if somebody talks about your momma that's fighting words.'' Tickets for the show are available at 27th Century Boutique and Babes Kitchen on Watlington Road and are priced at $25.
