Shoppers who leave goods on view in their cars are just tempting opportunistic thieves to steal them.

In one incident a woman left a handbag in her vehicle for less than five minutes on Reid Street. That was long enough for her to lose her bag containing $50 in cash and her credit card.

The other incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning when a car parked on the Co-op parking area on Cavendish Road was broken into. the thief managed to steal two bags containing $150 and $30.
