Ashley Gilbert Dowling, 31, could be sentenced in Supreme Court on January 3.
Yesterday, Puisne Judge the Hon. Mrs. Justice Wade asked for a social inquiry report.
Reading of the facts in the case will await sentencing.
Dowling's conviction was the first of its kind in Bermuda.
Government recently amended the law to make it an offence to knowingly infect another person with a life-threatening sexually transmitted disease, including the AIDS virus.
At his arraignment in Supreme Court, Dowling, of Cedar Heights Lane, Warwick, pleaded guilty to the serious sexual assault committed between October 1, 1993 and July 25, 1994.
Mrs. Justice Wade remanded him in custody.
