Trial date finally set
Canadian teenager.
Justis Raham Smith, 18, will appear in the Supreme Court on November 23. He is charged with murder in July 1996.
Smith, who was remanded in custody by Chief Justice Austin Ward, appeared in the Supreme Court yesterday. He was represented by Archie Warner.
Canadian Rebecca Middleton, 17, was killed at Ferry Reach, St. George's over two years ago. Smith was charged with murder soon after.
The setting of a trial date follows a protracted battle by the Attorney General to bring a murder charge against Kirk Mundy, who had already pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact.
Last month the Privy Council in London threw out an appeal from the Attorney General, who asked permission for Mundy to be charged again, this time with murder.
