Former players honoured

annual Over 40s Veteran All-Star soccer game between Somerset and St. George's at Somerset CC this Saturday (kick-off 3.15 p.m.).

In addition to Finance Minister Eugene Cox, also recognised will be Somerset stalwarts Donald Simmons, Dennis (Bull) Bean, Albert (Bill) Darrell and Joe L.

Brown. Those nominated from St. George's are Sidney Thompson, James (Sub) Smith, Eugene Paynter and Roddy Burchall.

All will receive awards following the game for their contributions to soccer over the years, while the winning team will receive a trophy donated by Mr.

and Mrs. R.O.Smith.

"The event brings together two clubs who had a good camaraderie in the past, enabling everybody to enjoy memories from the good old days and it's simply a good thing for the two communities,'' said comittee spokesman Larry Hunt.

Among the ex-players take part will be Lionel (Baldy) Smith, Clyde Best, Noel Sub Smith and Teddy Swainson.
