Book for elderly printed
week to all Bermuda residents.
The information guide is the result of a cooperative effort between Government and the private sector, a Government spokesman said yesterday.
The Ministry of Health and Social Services and the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs compiled the information in the Seniors' Handbook and the Bank of Bermuda sponsored its design and printing.
It came about as a result of a recommendation in Government's Study of the Needs of the Elderly 1991 to update information in the 1988 Seniors Guide. The recommendation said there was a need for more information to be given through a variety of media to ensure Bermudians know what services are available.
It is crammed with information ranging from accident prevention to a list of phone numbers for senior recreation centres.
