Gay articale was `sensitive and accurate'
P.S. Readers' Letters Dear Sir, I would like to commend The Royal Gazette for its recent RG Magazine's excellent article on what it is to be a homosexual in Bermuda. I congratulate the writer, Robin Zuill, for the sensitive and accurate way she handled the subject.
I also applaud the people who had the courage to be interviewed or write about their personal experiences. As a homosexual Bermudian I can relate to everything they said about the hell of prejudice and discrimination we face here.
I especially admire Mr. Martin Smith for his commence from a parent's viewpoint. His words are amongst the most lucid and rational I've read for a long time. I urge our parliamentarians to read them and to have the courage and integrity to act on them.
I'm sorry I can't sign my name to this letter of thanks. But as a homosexual, to sign my name would probably cost me my job. It would certainly created major unpleasantness with my employer and put an end to future promotion. And until the present law is changed it would label me a criminal.
A Bermudian for human rights, Pembroke.
