Mr. John Harvey, executive director of the Bermuda Hotel Association, said crime in the community was on the agenda when the association's board of governors met on Tuesday.

Hoteliers and the Island generally have been rocked by recent violent attacks.

A group of four visitors was robbed at gunpoint at the Southampton Princess, and a woman visitor was robbed with violence inside the Hamilton Princess. On Sunday, White Sands & Cottages in Paget was robbed and its assistant manager violently attacked. There have also been a series of violent attacks on Police.

"The Board of Governors unanimously agreed to work closely with the Police service in assisting them wherever possible with their charge in ensuring that Bermuda continues to be a safe destination,'' Mr. Harvey said.

"More importantly...the Bermuda public in general must play its role in helping the Police service with their challenges.''
