The National Association for Reconciliation will hold the discussion into approaches and possible solutions to institutional racism on Monday evening.

The meeting at the Centennial Hall, will include Mr. John Barritt, Mr. James Ziral, Ms Cheryl Pooley, Mr. Llewellyn Simmons and Mr. Nelson Bascome.

Others offering comment on the issue are Dr. Allan Anderson, Mr. Elyaht Soor Ben Israel and Mr. Takhir Karien Sharrieff.

A spokesman said: "Most of our Parliamentarians have now acknowledged the existence of institutional racism. The question now is what should we be doing? "There are a variety of options concerning the direction in which we should be moving: integration, assimilation, black nationalism, Afro-centrism. These are all terms describing or implying goals and direction.

"There are other terms that are relevant like tokenism, quotas, affirmative actions, restitution, reparation, collective action, personal initiative and race-class.

"Do you consider racism of any kind a moral outrage? Or is it something that will always be with us and therefore not worth the effort of attempting to address?'' The meeting begins at 7.30 p.m. Centennial Hall is located on the corner of Court Street and Victoria Street.
