putting some milk into a bucket. Zeus had ordered a fast for seven days and seven nights. This was usual for the gods but not for everyone. Cowcules could not drink the milk that was in the bucket, so he just left it there. After he left the farming area where he was, he went to visit his cousin, Hercules.

Later that night, Cowcules was talking to his cousin about the fast. Hercules had been given a lot of fruits and vegetables by the humans, but he would be sent away to the underworld where he would become Hades' slave.

When seven days were up, Cowcules went down to the farm where he had left his milk, but he did not find milk. He found a harder substance and it did not smell very pleasant. The next day Cowcules found out Hercules had been captured because he had eaten some food when he was not supposed to. He had been sent to Hades to become his slave. If he did not obey his orders, Zeus would destroy Hercules.

Cowcules was sad, but he did not cry or anything like that because gods were not really into family friendships. Cowcules was still as tonished about that funny substance, so he showed it to Zeus. When Zeus finally got his eyes on it, Cowcules told him the story of how he had gotten it. Zeus decided to taste it, and when he did, he could not stop eating it. Zeus told Cowcules to get him a whole mountain of it, and Cowcules could not disobey him, so he went to the farm and started milking himself. He got twenty buckets that night, and in two days they had all hardened. He dumped it all into a pile and started all over again. Cowcules did this many, many times, he actually did this over and over approximately one million times.

Then he stopped. He realised that he could get Hercules back. He went to Zeus and asked him if he would give him Hercules in exchange for the hardened milk.

Finally Zeus said yes only if he could name it. Cowcules said yes and Zeus named it cheese.

Hercules became free again and on that night there was a terrible storm. A tornado swallowed all the cheese and sent it to the sky. Cowcules told this to Zeus and he was furious and told Cowcules to go away. After that Zeus named the big yellow cheese in the sky the "MOON.'' -- Karsten Brun Warwick Academy, Year 2.
