her Rottweiler Jenny -- after she and her dog foiled a robbery attempt yesterday at the South Shore Road shop.

Yesterday's failed heist follows a July 1 armed robbery at the neighbourhood store.

"When is this going to end?'' a shaken Mrs. Fox asked yesterday.

According to the 61-year old, whose husband owns the store, the attempted robbery happened at about 4.30 p.m. yesterday.

"Two men came in. One was tall, very dark-skinned, mid 20's and husky looking. The other one was small, he could have been a teenager, I don't know,'' said Mrs. Fox, obviously fighting back her tears. "The big one came in and asked for a cold beer, and when I turned to get it, he jumped right up on my counter, sat down and reached into the cash register draw.

"He didn't get anything. I shouted `No!' and slammed the drawer shut.

"When I did that, the small one came around like he was going to go for me, but Jenny, my dog, jumped up and barked.

"She's got a loud bark and it scared them both. They ran out of the shop, jumped on a black rental bike and took off down the road,'' Mrs. Fox said.

"She's a good dog and I'm really happy she was there to help me.''
