57th Agricultural Exhibition at the Botanical Gardens.

Entries appear to be around the same level as last year's successful event and organisers are hoping that the good weather will continue until Saturday.

Food stalls have been erected and the star attraction, the Chinese Acrobats, have been going through their last minute paces.

Last night organisers faced a flood of entries as people turned up after work and school, bringing plants and animals in the large variety of show categories.

Motorists as usual will find restrictions when they get close to the Botanical Gardens, in Paget.

A number of road closures and diversions will be in place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.

m. on each day.

A one-way system will be in effect on Berry Hill Road -- vehicles will only be permitted to travel east between Camden Road North and Tee Street.

Parking will not be permitted on South Road in the vicinity of the Botanical Gardens, Tee Street, Point Finger Road or Berry Hill Road.

Access for vehicles will be through the north and south gates only.

Pedestrians will be permitted through the west gate on Point Finger Road.

Police community relations officer P.c. Gary Venning said: "We would ask motorists to be particularly careful as there will be a number of horses on the roads making their way to the show.

"In the vicinity of horses, reduce your speed, leave a wide berth when overtaking, do not sound your horn or do anything sudden that may startle the horse.''
