Container ships bring in buses, cars and a boat

Container Ship Management, agents for the vessel, said that there were also 107 dry and 28 refrigerated containers on board along with two 40-foot road trailers and a 26-foot boat. The Oleander set sail on Tuesday morning.

Meyer Agencies reported that the Bermuda Islander arrived on Monday with 72 containers, eight of which were refrigerated. They did not bring in a scheduled shipment of horses because of the rough weather caused by Hurricane Hortense. The ship left on Tuesday.

Meanwhile the Somers Isles arrived on Sunday with a load of loose cargo and 91 containers of which seven were refrigerated. She left on Monday for Florida.

Cruise ship the Zenith arrived on Monday with 1301 passengers but elected not to transfer to St. George's yesterday as bad weather had been forecast. She leaves this afternoon.

The Dreamward arrived in St. George's with 980 passengers and moved to Hamilton on Tuesday. The vessel leaves today.

And the Meridian arrived on Tuesday afternoon with 975 passengers and sails today.

John S. Darrell reported a quiet week apart from the scheduled arrivals of The Royal Majesty and the Song of America with 812 and 1294 passengers respectively.
