"Style and Fashion'' was launched by teacher Terry Lynne Weeks and librarian Bernadette McIntosh nearly three years ago to teach young ladies etiquette.

"It's loosely based on charm school,'' said Mrs. Weeks. "We teach etiquette, appropriate behaviour in different settings, communication skills, modelling, hygiene and hair and nail care.'' The programme also hosts guest speakers, goes on field trips and organises charity events. Last year, they staged a fashion show to raise funds for Big Brothers and Sisters.

This year the programme will host eight to ten year olds and 11 to 16 year olds.

The group meets at the BIU headquarters on Saturdays during the school year.
