for the FA Cup preliminary round replay between Lobster Pot and Social Club.

The match was postponed on Tuesday night after being rescheduled at BAA field.

While insisting that it would not take place tonight, BFA Secretary General David Sabir said that sufficient time remained for them to confirm a venue and date before the first round matches on January 14.

Sabir and his office staff, meanwhile, denied that they were tardy in dealing with Tuesday's postponement, insisting that the field operators, BAA, were informed in time and that the difficulty which the clubs had in reaching their players was the determining factor that led to the game being called off.

"BAA were advised that there would be no double-header, and the game was called off by 4.00 p.m. because the teams involved where unable to notify their players in time. Had the game gone ahead there probably would have been some no-shows,'' said Sabir.

"Our staff did what was required of them, contacting the clubs concerned as well as even giving proper notification so that the information of the cancellation could be broadcast over both radio and television. What more could have been done, I just don't know,'' he said.

While being reminded that BAA gatemen were confused and unable to explain to paying fans about the reason the game between Lobster Pot and Social Club was not being played at 7.00 as orginally confirmed, Sabir said that the BFA had no dealing with gate people.
