Sgt. Peter Giles, prosecuting, told Magistrates' Court that on the evening of August 12, Chanida Tucker parked her bike at her Parsons Road home. The next morning she discovered the bike seat had been stolen.

Sgt. Giles said Tucker went to a cycle shop to buy a new bike seat. While there, David Robert Tuzo, of North Street, Pembroke, tried to sell a bike seat to her. She told Tuzo it was her bike seat and he gave it back to her without hesitation.

Tuzo, 34, yesterday admitted stealing the bike seat and was fined $300.
