appointed John Brough president of its Bermuda-headquartered international subsidiary, Glycyx Pharmaceuticals, Ltd.

Salix said Mr. Brough, former president of Syntex Pharmaceuticals International, Ltd., a subsidiary of the former Syntex Corporation, will be based in Bermuda.

A Chartered Management Accountant, Mr. Brough was with Syntex for 15 years and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from London University.

Salix is engaged in the development and commercialisation of prescription pharmaceutical products, specifically new treatments for gastrointestinal diseases.

Glycyx conducts Salix's non-US business.
