observance, set sail Monday afternoon for her next port of call, Key West, Florida.

The 145-metre, Type 22 frigate arrived on the Island last Thursday en route to taking up station in the West Indies, said John S. Darrell spokesman Tim Southern.

While in port her crew took part in Coronation Cup competition against the Island's Police Service, as well as making themselves known in downtown watering holes.

Meanwhile the Canadian minesweeper HMCS Nanaimo is expected to tie-up at Ordinance Island, St. George's, this afternoon.

The 182-foot, 934-tonne vessel is scheduled to take on fresh water and discharge sewage. She sails out Friday morning for Puerto Rico.

In other shipping news The Bermuda Islander earlier this week logged a brief visit to Hamilton, said Meyer Agency spokesman Stephen Paynter.

She arrived in port Monday morning after sailing from Salem, New Jersey, discharged 71 containers of general cargo, 11 reefers, and one truck, before setting sail for Salem Monday afternoon.

The Somers Isle meanwhile is expected to arrive in Hamilton Sunday, November 17. She yesterday set out from Fernandina Beach, Florida, with unspecified cargo, said Mr. Paynter.

Out in St. George's the Norwegian registered ocean-going tug Boa Tor , having completed repairs to its tow-line, is scheduled to sail today for Rotterdam.

Meyer's spokesman Captain John Moore said the 110-foot tug, towing a 150-foot barge, had set out from Galviston, Texas, in late October.

En route to her home Port of Rotterdam, the Boa Tor took a beating from Hurricane Lili, breaking her tow-line, and was forced to abandon the barge about 300-nautical miles east of here.

In early November the Boa Tor set out to find the barge, returning to Penno's Wharf on November 7 with it in tow.

A new tow-line has since been flown in and all repairs are now completed, said Capt. Moore.

Another disabled vessel, 104-foot ketch White Hawk , is also set to sail today under her own power alongside an escort, the Osprey , an 90-foot deep-sea dragger out of Newport, Rhode Island.

The Osprey , which holds an off-shore towing licence, arrived Monday in St.

George's, said Capt. Moore. The White Hawk suffered an engine fire October 30 while moored in St. George's Harbour.

Container Ship Management's Robert Lewis reported the Oleander made her regularly scheduled run from Port Elizabeth, arriving in port Monday and discharged 101 dry containers, 35 reefers, one 30-foot mafis of steel, one 45-foot mafis of steel, one 24-foot trailer of steel, and four cars.

She set sail Tuesday morning and was yesterday requested by the Western Atlantic Search and Rescue base, Norfolk, Virginia, to divert to a distress call at coordinates 69-degrees north and 18-degrees west.

HMS BOXER -- The Royal Navy frigate, seen here berthed in Hamilton, left Bermuda this week for her next port of call, Key West, Florida.
