A 31-year-old Warwick man remained in critical condition in hospital last night following a road accident in which he crashed into a utility pole.

The accident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. yesterday on Middle Road in Warwick just east of Morgan's Road, Police said.
The man was apparently riding west when he struck a pole in the bus lay by opposite Warwick Academy. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
Anyone who saw the accident is asked to contact P.c. James Outerbridge.
The man is in the intensive care unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
