Electricity and propane gas both rose, by 2.6 percent and 4.8 percent respectively.

For the average cost of medical care by a doctor, dentist or optician increased by two percent on the month.

But the Government-issued consumer price index for October pointed out that the increase in health care was offset by price decreases in over-the-counter medical and personal items, leaving an overall price increase in the sector of 1.3 percent.

Other sectors showed only fractional increases on the month, with the transport and vehicles sector edging up by 0.3 percent, largely due to an increase in gas prices.

Rent and the cost of education, books, leisure and sport rose by 0.2 percent, while the cost of tobacco and alcohol went up by 0.1 percent.

But the cost of clothes, shoes, household goods, services and supplies stayed the same.
