Two financial institutions advanced and one declined.

The only other issue to trade, Kentucky Fried Chicken, closed down.

Bank of Butterfield advanced 25 cents to close at $9.75 on volume of 41,500 while Bank of Bermuda gained 25 cents to close at $18.50 on volume of 100.

Bermuda Commercial Bank declined 12.5 cents to close at $5.25 on volume of 174.

Kentucky Fried Chicken closed down 67.5 cents at $15.875 on volume of 100.

Total volume was 42,174 worth $414,526.

The index gained 10.37 points closing at 977.37.
