report on a 17-year-old who admitted stealing more than $3,000 worth of boat equipment.

Andrew Joseph Bucy, of Littleholme Lane, Southampton, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to breaking into five boats at Jews Bay between November and December last year.

The court heard that Bucy, who was represented by lawyer Mr. Tyrone Chin, removed fishing gear, a pair of binoculars, and various radio equipment from the boats.

As a result of the inquiries, prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne said, Police went to Jews Bay where they saw a person acting in a suspicious manner.

While that person did not appear before the court yesterday, Sgt. Osborne said Bucy was arrested as a result of further inquiries.

Bucy also asked that 22 other similar matters be taken into consideration.

Mr. Chin noted that all of the stolen equipment had been recovered.

"Of the 22 (other matters) are some outstanding items that have not been recovered,'' he said. "But we ask that a social inquiry report be done due to his age and the fact that this is his first time before the courts.'' Mr. Chin said he realised that a social inquiry report would take some six to eight weeks.

"But,'' he said, "it is imperative in this situation.''
