Man in the wrong place at the wrong time

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said narcotics officers stopped and searched Thomas at about 7 p.m. in Middle Town after receiving certain information.

They found a yellow pay-type envelope containing plant material in Thomas' jacket pocket and arrested him, Insp Duffy said. The envelope was later found to contain 0.46 grams of cannabis.

Thomas, who is unemployed, told the court: "I guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.'' Magistrate the Wor. John Judge fined him $200.
