Police issue bag warning
unattended in parked cars.
The warning came after two unattended vehicles fell prey to thieves over the weekend.
Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett reported the owner of the first car said she parked her car around 11.45 p.m. Friday in the area of Albuoy's Point while she went on a cruise.
On returning a few hours later she discovered that a passenger window had been smashed.
A bag placed under the front passenger seat had been stolen. It contained camera equipment, glasses and other personal items.
A second car, parked in the same area during the same time period, was also broken into.
A Bank of Bermuda pouch containing a small quantity of cash, cheque books and a savings book were stolen.
Police also suggested that those bags not containing valuables should not be left in cars.
Thieves, seeing the bag, may still to gain entry and cause damage to the vehicle, Police said.
