Triathlete Pigg in flying visit
when Mike Pigg visits the Island later this month.
The Californian professional triathlete, who has won many of the world's major triathlons during his 16 years of competing will be hosting free junior and adult clinics for Bermuda Triathlon Association members.
Pigg, 35, two-time International Triathlete of the Year and twice the US triathlon champion, has competed in more than 140 multi-sport/triathlon races and has won more than half of them.
Derek Atkins of the BTA said the clinics would take place on Saturday, February 19, the junior section from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., while Pigg will instruct the adults from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The adult clinic will comprise open water swimming (weather permitting), cycling, running, transitions and nutrition.
Pigg will also be guest speaker at the BTA's prizegiving dinner at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club the same day.
The following day, Pigg will be a special guest at the Annual Bananathon, a fun run-cyle-run event for BTA members at Spittal Pond. After the race, Pigg will mingle with locals over brunch and will be available to answer questions and chat about triathlon.
Pigg's distinctive style has made him one of the world's best-known triathletes. He has notched a remarkable 30 wins on the US Triathlon Series and has won high profile events like Escape from Alcatraz.
