The Psychological Practitioners Act 1998 was passed by the Senate and provides for regulation of professionals in Bermuda via a code of conduct and protects against unqualified people duping the public.

Sen. Terry Lister commended the legislation and said he hoped professionals who were not up to scratch soon did so to comply with the code.

And he said, in reply to an earlier remark about who was getting treatment: "Who needs treatment? Everybody. Bermuda is very psychotic.''
