Southampton woman $225 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Jody Oneil, of 22 Rose Hill Road, pleaded guilty to the offences which occurred on April 8.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Oneil's car collided with a car which stopped at the junction of Court and Church streets around 8 a.m. that day.

He said the driver of the other car, which was travelling east, stopped at the junction to see if it was clear because the traffic lights were not working.

Oneil's car collided with the car and flipped over onto its roof, he said, adding that neither driver was injured. But both cars were slightly damaged.

Insp. Duffy said mechanics found that Oneil's vehicle was found to have ineffective brakes when Police impounded it.

He said mechanics also indicated that this problem would have been apparent to anyone driving the car.

Magistrate the Wor. John Judge fined Oneil $75 for having faulty brakes and, because it was her first conviction for driving without due care, fined her $150 for that offence.
