The Hamilton East MP incurred the wrath of the Speaker of the House after storming out in the middle of the motion to adjourn. The flare-up occurred after Mr. Burgess stood up to make a speech at the same time as PLP Health spokeswoman Renee Webb.
The Speaker, Mr. Ernest DeCouto, ordered Ms Webb to speak, forcing Mr. Burgess to take his seat. Feeling snubbed, Mr. Burgess, who is also president of the BIU, stormed out of the chamber, slamming the door behind him.
Mr. DeCouto ordered the Sergeant-at-Arms to call Mr. Burgess back, but the furious MP had already left the building.
