Castle Harbour yesterday after guests and some staff came down with nausea and vomiting.

Chief Medical officer Dr. John Cann confirmed that staff from the Health Department went to the hotel after complaints reached his office about persons suffering from these symptoms.

"Some persons got ill for about 24 hours,'' he said. "They complained of nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. We investigated and found that a small number of guests were reported to be ill as well as a small number of staff.'' Dr. Cann said that all of the persons who fell ill recovered but that the examination of the water and food at the hotel demonstrated that neither was a vehicle for the transmission of the source of the illness.
